DoD Mentor-Protégé Program

introduces newest DoD / Air Force Protégé, “Macalogic” and Teresa Macalolooy

As a former Small Business, S3 knows first-hand the importance of helping Small Business’ grow and develop into mature strategic business partners capable of performing as prime contractors.  Based on our experience, S3 became a DoD approved Mentor in 2016. With this approval, S3 participates in the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program to assist approved Protégés in successfully competing for prime and subcontract opportunities and in developing the business systems essential to becoming a successful DoD Prime Contractor.

The DoD Office of Small Business Programs usually provides two opportunities to establish Mentor-Protégé Agreements per year.  The Mentor-Protégé Process requires each Mentor-Protégé Team to include support of a Historically Black College/University (HBCU) and consists of a three-step process leading to a possible Mentor-Protégé Agreement Award:

  • Submission of a White Paper explaining how the Mentor-Protégé Team supports achieving the corresponding Service Goals
  • Receipt of an Invitation to submit a proposal from the DoD OSBP
  • Submission of Proposal
  • Mentor-Protégé Agreement Contract Award

The DoD Mentor-Protégé Agreement Contract is currently a two-year contract that provides specific funding to establish and build our partnership and provide a win-win-win relationship for the protégé, the mentor and the DoD.
