Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS), Wholly-Owned Subsidiary of System Studies & Simulation, Inc. (S3), has experienced exciting changes over the past few months. KBFS recently added a new aviation support contract at Geneva, AL, where KBFS will function as the Fixed Base Operator adding fuel, maintenance, training, and base operations services at the municipal airport over the next 18 months. Additionally, the KBFS team at Crestview, FL, was awarded a subcontract to provide training for additional Partner Nation Cessna 208 Caravan pilots.
KBFS: Temple is entering into a new era within the commercial aviation arena. The changes started several months ago with the addition of Multiengine Training to the KBFS Part 141 offerings, and an expansion of KBFS FAA Part 135 helicopter opportunities that include the addition of a Bell 206 helicopter to the Certificate.
During the past three months, KBFS: Temple added three premier new training aircraft to its Part 141 training fleet. This state of the art trainer, the Tecnam P2010, has all the modern accoutrements that make it an attractive Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) that is fun to fly and very economical. The day after this aircraft touched down in its new home in Temple, several customers pre-registered to start their flight training in this remarkable aircraft. In total, KBFS: Temple has added two P2010 Single-Engine Land (SEL) trainers and one P2006 Multiengine Land aircraft at Temple Draughon-Miller Regional Airport. Word of KBFS modernization and expansion efforts is spreading rapidly, and we now have students signing up every day to pursue their private and commercial
